Research led by our laboratory has established the first long-term cultivation system for Cryptosporidium at a laboratory scale. Based on this newly developed system, the team has introduced several new techniques to investigate the biology of the parasite. This work offers new insights into the lifestyle of the parasite, generates essential knowledge and provides new platforms for anti-parasitic drug development.
